I have not been following the diet that my doctor told me to follow. Neither have I been taking the appetite suppressant that she prescribed me. I feel like such a failure. Why do I have zero discipline when it comes to my weight loss?
Its frustrating. I know I need to lose weight. For my health and so I feel better about myself. My family knows I need to lose weight. And they tell me all the time. Not in a mean way, but in a very concerned way. I just wish that they would offer to work out with me or give me healthy recipes or something constructive. Instead of just telling me what I already know.
Sigh.

Starting My Weight Loss Journey
My doctor has diagnosed me as "Pre-Diabetic".
NOOOO!!!!
I have been dreading that. Granted, it's not as bad as actually being diabetic. But considering that I am EXTREMELY overweight, and I have a family history of diabetes (both grandmothers and now both my parents have it), I kinda saw it coming. Fortunately my doctor said that my blood sugar is normal right now. Everything was normal on my lab work. Except my metabolism is really low. She has me taking Metformin (which is used for diabetes and PCOS) and told me that it should help me lose some weight. I am supposed to go back after a month of taking it. I've weighed myself on my scale at home and if it's right (I never trust those things!) then I've lost about 5 pounds in 2 weeks! WOOHOO!!
I am on an eating schedule, to boost my metabolism. I've even had to set alarms on my phone to remind me to eat. That's why my metabolism is almost gone. I have the habit of eating only once or twice a day, usually bigger meals. So I am working on eating 6 times a day, every 2-3 hours. Its been working pretty well. I have more energy and feel myself actually getting hungry!
I've also been going to the gym with my hubby. Which is so great. I have a Curves membership, but I haven't been there since December. (Even though I'm still PAYING for it!!) We've been going to one of the gyms on post this week. Riding bikes and walking on the treadmill. I've been taking it slow, so I don't hurt myself, but I'm proud that I've done it every day! Although, today I went on a walk with my sister, cause it was SISTER DAY! It was harder than using the bikes or treadmills at the gym, but definitely worth it.
Well, I have to get some rest. Be back soon!
